Goodyear Tire and Rubber
Goodyear research supported by the United Soybean Board revealed soybean oil, as a triglyceride, has unique properties and mixes better with rubber, improving tire flexibility across temperatures and traction in rain or snowy conditions. Goodyear increased soybean oil usage by 73% in 2020 in comparison to 2018. By 2040, Goodyear hopes to replace petroleum in its products entirely. With the volatile petroleum prices, soybean oil allows Goodyear to provide a more affordable and sustainable tire to its customers.
